Lubbock Police revisit unsolved case and found evidence of murder for missing local teen Mark Anthony Ysasaga. Jose Angel Simental is prime suspect for the homicide of ,Ysasaga who went missing in June of 2012. Ysasaga was 15 at the time when he was last seen exiting Wal-Mart at Marsha Sharp Freeway and Avenue Q.
Jose Angel Simental, a person that knew Ysasgaga. Simental is currently serving a 7-year prison sentence for burglary. According to KLBK news, investigators found new evidence that links Simental to murdering Ysasgaga.
Investigators found new evidence to obtain an arrest warrant and re-checked Simental’s house where a piece of carpet had been replaced by Simental back in 2012, according to Jose’s landlord.
They found blood, DNA evidence underneath the floorboards that matched Ysasaga’s DNA. Their are statements from people who knew Simental, saying he jokingly talked about shooting some guy, and “I never thought I’d murder somebody and get away with it.” All of the statements were in the arrest-warrant made by LPD in 2012
Simental was served with an arrest warrant Thursday and he will be brought back to Lubbock to face charges.
Captain John Caspell, headed the re-investigation, and told KLBK “We still have a lot of work to do in this case, not the least of which is recovering Mark’s body for his family,” “We know there are more persons responsible for Mark Ysasaga’s homicide.”
There is a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Ysasaga’s recovery.
