According to KCBD, the news channel 11, a small plane hit the transmitter tower. The plane caused the station to go off air.
The plane landed on the north end of the station, no KCBD staff have been injured and details on condition of pilot and or if the plane carried passengers.
Surrounding neighborhoods have a power outage, drivers around 50th and A are being asked to avoid are if possible.
The United Market Spirit Arena lost half their lights during a Tech men’s basketball game against Kansas State. Power came back on and game is still going.
Tech campus lost power at the Library but the KTXT 88.1 which is located in the MCOM building still stands strong. Keep it locked to the for more details.
