TEXAS TECH: The National College Baseball Hall of Fame will host its annual Night of Champions ceremony on Saturday at the Overton Hotel and Conference Center. Each year the best players and coaches from the season are recognized, and a new class is inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame.
Part of the induction includes the past and present players and coaches giving oral histories and providing memorabilia to the exhibit. The Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library at Texas Tech University is the repository for the National College Baseball Hall of Fame. This yearly exhibit displays memorabilia and donations such as ball caps, bats, uniforms, cleats and other items of interest from various college baseball players and coaches.
Of particular interest, this year is the winner of the Skip Bertman National Coach of the Year, which will be awarded to Texas Tech head coach Tim Tadlock, who recently led the Red Raiders to the best season in school history culminating in the first trip to the College World Series.
The items will be on display at Southwest Collections through Sept. 30.
