(Bastrop, TX) — The Texas Municipal Police Association is defending the Tasing of a Bastrop high school student fighting a traumatic brain injury.
The family of 17-year-old Noe Nino de Rivera has filed a federal lawsuit claiming the Tasing caused the brain injury inside Cedar Creek High School. They say he was trying to break up a fight between two girls when a school resource officer Tased him.
Attorneys for the police say the student was coherent after the Tasing, and he was battling headaches days before the incident.
