Saturday will begin cold across the South Plains. Temperatures will be in the mid 40’s across Lubbock, by sunrise. Though, winds will be relatively light; causing only minor wind chills.
As tailgating kicks off by mid-morning, temperatures will recover into the lower 50’s. Still worthy of a jacket, but not too far from October averages. Other than a few high clouds, skies will remain mostly clear through Saturday afternoon as temperatures warm into the 70’s!
As moisture increases across west Texas, and a storm system approaches from the northwest, clouds will begin to increase Saturday evening. Rain chances enter our forecast by Sunday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will begin scattered, but become more numerous into Monday. Severe weather is not expected. However, brief heavy rain, gusty winds, and lightning will be possible with the strongest storms through Tuesday morning.
Cool and unsettled weather will stick around for much of the upcoming work week.
