Dyess AFB Commander Has Zombie Plan

Dyess AFB Welcome Sign(Abilene, TX)  —  A wing commander at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene is drawing a lot of attention on social media for his detailed answer to what most would think was a fairly silly question.

The “Air Force Times” reports that then-Colonel Glen VanHerck of the Seventh Bomb Wing at Dyess was taking online questions on Facebook when he was asked what he would do if zombies ever attacked the base.  VanHerck gave a detailed answer, including how he would level a “debilitating airstrike” on the zombies to wipe them out.

Being prepared for such questions has apparently worked for VanHerck.  At the end of August, VanHerck was promoted to Brigadier General.
