Believe it or not, high temperatures in Lubbock have remained below average since the July 14th through 18th rain event. However, due to high moisture levels, it has felt hotter during the afternoon.
Hot and humid conditions will stick around through the rest of the week. Though, beginning Wednesday afternoon, the chance of showers and thunderstorms will begin to increase. Storms will be few and far between, until Friday. Late this week, higher moisture levels and another unusual summer cold front will result in increasing storm activity.
Rain will not be widespread, but could be heavy in isolated areas. Temperatures will also fall to below average levels, once again. By early next week rain chances will diminish, and more typical summer weather will arrive, as temperatures warm back into the mid and upper 90’s.
