Muggy mornings, hot afternoons, and isolated thunderstorm chances will stay in the forecast for the next few days.
A ridge of high pressure is slowly building over west Texas, making it less favorable for thunderstorms to develop. Still, with moisture in the atmosphere and plenty of heating, a few thunderstorms, some strong, can be expected each afternoon or evening.
Most of the storms will stay west of Lubbock. However, if you are under one of these storms, high winds, hail, and vivid dangerous lightning will be possible.
Otherwise, warm weather and gusty afternoon winds will stick around through the first official weekend of summer.
