Wednesday’s Forecast

Overnight thunderstorms could stick around into Wednesday morning. Gusty winds, brief heavy rain, & vivid lightning are all possible with the strongest thunderstorms. However, most of the storm activity should move out of the region by daybreak, Wednesday morning.

Skies will clear by afternoon, therefore temperatures will be quite warm late in the day. Highs will be in the lower 90’s across the city of Lubbock. Higher-than-average humidity levels will combine with warm temperatures to produce very uncomfortable heat indices. It will ‘feel’ more like the mid to upper 90’s during the afternoon.

Because of a building ridge of high pressure, rain chances will begin to decrease on Wednesday. However, a few isolated to widely scattered showers & thunderstorms will be possible during the afternoon.

Hot weather and only isolated afternoon thunderstorms are expected by late week.
