The recent weather pattern, full of mild mornings and hot afternoons, will continue on Wednesday. The day will begin with temperatures near 70° in Lubbock. It may feel humid as you walk out the door, but humidity levels will drop through the day. Winds will average 10-20 mph, with a few higher gusts in the afternoon.
Afternoon temperatures will reach the upper 90’s in the Hub City. Communities off of the Caprock will see highs near the century mark. Skies will remain mostly clear. Though, a few high clouds may drift in from the south and west by late afternoon.
Higher moisture levels will move in from the Gulf of Mexico late in the week. Because of the increase in moisture, cooler afternoon temperatures and higher rain chances will enter the forecast as early as Friday. Until then, hot and dry weather is expected.
