Low clouds and areas of drizzle will stick around through mid-morning, before clearing out by early afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 60’s to near 70 before the clouds burn off.
This afternoon, partly cloudy skies and below-normal temperatures are expected. Highs will be in the upper 70’s north of town, near 80 in the city, and even warmer across the southern South Plains. Winds are going to be out of east 10-15 mph range in the afternoon, with a few gusts as high as 20 mph.
Thunderstorm chances will not be as high as Wednesday. Only isolated afternoon thunderstorms are expected, mainly south and west of the city of Lubbock. It is possible that another line of storms could move into portions of the area this evening, but the chance of this happening is very minimal.
