Hot weather will continue into this evening, with temperatures topping-out in the mid 90’s across Lubbock. Winds will be gusty, once again, which could lead to isolated areas of blowing dust; especially in rural locations.
There is a slight chance of isolated strong thunderstorms this afternoon & evening. A weak dry-line will develop west of Lubbock over the next few hours and could provide just enough ‘lift’ for thunderstorm development. If storms do develop, few could be strong, with large hail, gusty winds, & dangerous lightning.
Rain chances will continue to decrease through the work-week, with highs warming to near 100 degrees by Wednesday.
