High temperatures soared to over 100 degrees on Tuesday. This heat will continue through the work-week, due to a ridge of high pressure, which has been slowly building into the South Plains over the last several days.
High temperatures between 100 and 105 will be widespread. Though, a few communities could top-out a few degrees warmer than that!
Rain chances will be very low into the weekend. However, few thunderstorms could develop during the afternoon, especially on Friday. Thus, after a stormy couple of weeks, west Texas has entered the mostly dry and hot ‘dog days’ of summer, which could stick around for awhile.
