Your Weekend Forecast

Friday is going to be hot, with highs around the century mark in the city of Lubbock.  Partly cloudy skies will last into the weekend.

One change, due to a late-season cold front, will be much cooler weekend temperatures. Highs on both Saturday and Sunday will be in the 80’s. This cold front may bring a slight increase in cloud-cover, but all precipitation is expected to remain south of the South Plains, through mid-day Sunday.

It will be windy behind the front. A  few gusts to near 40 mph are possible Saturday afternoon, before slowly diminishing Sunday morning.

By Sunday evening, an approaching disturbance, in combination with increasing moisture, could lead to scattered showers and thunderstorms- lasting into the work week.
