An active weather pattern will continue across west Texas for the foreseeable future. Highs today will be in the 80’s, under partly cloudy skies. The heat of the day could help fire-off a few thunderstorms, mainly off of the Caprock later this afternoon and evening. If anything develops, it will diminish by sunset with gusty southeasterly winds and muggy conditions lasting into Saturday morning.
Temperatures will be in the 80’s Saturday afternoon; temperatures near 90 are possible southeast of Lubbock. Once again, there will be a slight chance of afternoon ‘dry-line’ thunderstorms across the entire area. A few of the storms could be strong with small hail and gusty winds. Outside of any thunderstorms, partly cloudy skies and humid weather will prevail.
Sunday will be a carbon-copy forecast, with slight thunderstorm chances and breezy southeasterly winds. Temperatures will be slightly warmer Sunday afternoon, with highs in the 90’s.
Remember to check the latest forecast on our website before planning any outdoor Memorial Day activities. Thunderstorms will be isolated, but could produce quite a bit of dangerous lightning.
