Tuesday will begin similar to the past few mornings- mild, muggy, and breezy. Low clouds and areas of drizzle will be possible, especially off of the Caprock, through mid-morning. After then, clouds will burn off and winds will weaken into the 10-20 mph range.
By afternoon, temperatures will be near 90, under partly cloudy skies. The dry-line will develop west of Lubbock. The location of the dry-line will mean possible severe weather over at least the eastern two-thirds of the South Plains, including Lubbock.
Storms could develop early in the afternoon, but more likely after 3 PM.
Extremely large hail, destructive winds, and isolated tornadoes will all be possible, especially north of Lubbock. Dangerous super-cell thunderstorms will be a possible by late afternoon. If severe thunderstorms do develop, they could last well into the evening.
Remember, it is important to have a severe weather safety plan and a way to receive proper warnings.
