A bit of a change is expected in Tuesday’s weather. A cold front will move through the South Plains late Monday night with a slight chance of showers, gusty winds, and cooler temperatures.
Immediately behind the front low clouds and sprinkles may develop, especially across the Rolling Plains. Then, clouds will clear as high temperatures warm into the lower 80’s, versus the near triple digit heat of the past few days. Winds will diminish by late afternoon.
Looking ahead:
Warm weather returns, along with higher moisture, on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday still look to be ‘active’ with a decent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms some of which could be severe. The main severe weather threats will be large hail and damaging winds. One positive aspect of this potential spring thunderstorm event will be beneficial rainfall!
