The severe weather threat the South Plains was plagued by earlier in the week will be replaced by warmer and windy conditions Thursday. However, morning temperatures will be on the cool side; around 60 in the city of Lubbock.
By afternoon, the heat will be on, as temperatures warm through the 80’s. Afternoon highs will range from the mid to upper 90’s across the Hub City, under partly cloudy skies. Winds will be southwesterly 15-25 mph, with a few gusts near 35 mph possible by evening.
Even warmer weather is expected on Friday, with highs near 100!
