Hot temperatures, partly cloudy skies, and breezy afternoon winds will rule the forecast for the next few days. Thursday morning will begin on the mild side, with temperatures in the upper 50’s to near 60°. There could be a few areas of fog, especially over areas that saw rain on Wednesday afternoon. Any fog will burn off by 9 AM.
Temperatures will top-out in the mid 90’s in Lubbock by mid afternoon, under partly cloudy skies There will be a chance of isolated thunderstorms after 1 PM. While storms will be isolated, a few could be strong with gusty winds, small hail, and frequent lightning.
Storms that do develop will dissipate shortly after sunset.
Temperatures warm even more to end the week, with highs near 100° possible on Friday.
