Memorial Day’s Forecast

Memorial Day 2013 will be a hot one! Monday morning will begin muggy, with temperatures in the 60’s, and gusty winds. There could be  few low clouds, but any cloud cover will ‘burn off’ by mid-morning.

Highs will be near 100 degrees in Lubbock, under partly cloudy skies. The Storm Prediction Center has placed portions of the south plains under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms. If storms do develop, severe hail & winds could become  a problem.

Best storm should hold off until late afternoon – likely after 4 or 5 PM.

Thunderstorm chances increase Tuesday and Wednesday. More widespread severe weather is possible both afternoons.
