Friday will begin cool, once again. By afternoon Lubbock will top out near 80 degrees, under partly cloudy skies. There is a small potential for thunderstorm development in the Texas panhandle Friday afternoon. If storms do develop, it is possible that a few of these storms could affect portions of the South Plains Friday evening.
As a weak cold front moves into the South Plains Saturday, there will be another slight chance of thunderstorms, mainly south and east of Lubbock. Storms should remain isolated with very little rainfall accumulation both afternoons. Due to an increase in cloud cover, highs on Saturday will be held down in the 70’s.
The sun will move back into the forecast Sunday, allowing high temperatures to warm back into the 80’s. Get out and enjoy this weekend’s weather, but keep an eye to the sky! There could be a few thunderstorms both Friday and Saturday evenings.
Have a great weekend,
Cutter Martin
