You can expect highs near 70, high clouds, and breezy afternoon conditions to end the work week. Winds will occasionally gust over 25 mph through Friday evening, possibly leading to a few localized areas of blowing dust.
Saturday will be a repeat, weather wise, as a weak storms system causes an increase in high cloud cover across west Texas. There is also a slight chance of thunderstorms, north and east of Lubbock. Keep it in mind, if traveling that direction.
Big changes occur on Sunday as the storm system and cloud cover move out. Highs will soar into the upper 80’s Sunday afternoon. It’s possible that areas south of Lubbock could hit 90 degrees to finish to out the weekend.
