A strong cold front, that moved through Wednesday evening, has ushered in a winter-like air mass into the South Plains. Temperatures will be in the 30’s across the city of Lubbock when you head out the door on Thursday morning. When the 20-30 mph wind is factored in, it will feel more like the 20’s. Low clouds and areas of drizzle will occur through the morning hours.
Temperatures will remain cold through Thursday afternoon. Clouds will slowly clear the region, allowing highs to ‘warm’ into the 50’s. Winds will remain gusty for most of the day, making it feel even cooler outside.
A freeze is expected Thursday night and Friday morning. Heading out to work or school on Friday morning? You’ll likely be greeted by temperatures in the 20’s!
