Texas Tech Hosts 2013 Young Adult Summit
WHAT: Texas Tech University’s League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) sponsors the third annual West Texas Young Adult Summit
WHEN: 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. April 20
WHERE: Overton Hotel and Conference Center, 2322 Mac Davis Lane
EVENT: The West Texas Young Adult Summit (WTYAS) is a one-day conference open to students and the Lubbock community. The WTYAS brings attention to current issues and real concerns facing the Latino population. The conference is designed to educate, initiate discussions and empower participants.
Registration for the 2013 West Texas Young Adult Summit is required. The event is free and open to the public, and space is limited to 75 attendees. Registration after spots are filled will be placed on waiting list.
A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Participants will receive a free T-shirt.
This year 10 selected high school students will be invited to the event for the Summit Fellows Initiative. Students will gain insight to college experience, leadership roles and how to make a difference within the community.
