Saturday Weather Update

While Saturday still appears to be a nice day. Recent forecast models have increased Saturday afternoon’s rain chances across the South Plains. It appears that a few showers and thunderstorms will develop near the Texas/New Mexico border between 4-7 PM and move eastward  toward Lubbock through the evening. Thunderstorms are not expected to be severe, but could contain lightning and gusty winds.

With many outdoor activities being held on Saturday, including Texas Tech’s Relay For Life, be sure to keep an eye to the sky.

This forecast model, the Texas Tech WRF, depicts isolated thunderstorms moving through the Lubbock metro between 8 and 10PM.
