Monday’s Forecast

Most of Monday will be warm and breezy, until a strong cold front arrives Monday night. Lubbock will begin the day with temperatures near 50. A light breeze will make it ‘feel’ more like the 40’s during the rush hour commute. However, temperatures will warm quickly. By afternoon Lubbock will be in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.

Skies will remain mostly sunny through the day. A few high clouds will begin to move in after sunset as temperatures fall back into the 70’s, then the BIG changes arrive. Another strong, late-season, cold front will sweep through the South Plains Monday night. Behind this front  winds will gust over 40 mph and temperatures will plummet. By Tuesday morning, Lubbock will be in the 30s, with mostly cloudy skies and a gusty north wind.

Summer and winter within a two day period!

Summer and winter within a two day period!

After Monday’s spring-like weather, this cold air mass will be quite a shock to the system. Remember to dress warmly before you head out Tuesday morning, highs will struggle to reach 50 degrees!
