* Cold Again! *Inc. Winds * Warmer!
Don’t put those jackets away, just yet! Another hard freeze is expected Sunday night and Monday morning. We’ll begin Monday with temps in the teens northwest of Lubbock, and lower to mid 20′ for the rest of the region. Factor in a light northeasterly breeze and wind chills will be on the order of 5°-15°!
Temperatures will only slowly warm through the day. Lower 40’s will be common-place by lunch time, with highs topping out in the upper 40’s across the city of Lubbock. There will likely be a decent amount of cloud cover around through Monday afternoon. There is a very small (~5-10%) chance that the disturbance producing this cloud cover could touch off snow flurries, well north of Lubbock and on into the panhandle.
A warming trend will begin on Tuesday as winds switch around to the west; becoming gusty. By the end of the week, highs will be in the 70’s once again as thunderstorm chances creep into the forecast.
