A cold front which moved through Thursday evening will usher in both colder temperatures and gusty winds through Friday. Temperatures on Friday morning will be down-right cold; in the mid 20’s. Highs will not recover much either, likely only reaching the upper 40’s in Lubbock by mid afternoon. Winds will decrease from the 15-25 mph range to less than 10 mph by Friday evening.
Even with lighter wind by afternoon, Friday will be very chilly with lots of clouds and even the outside chance of snow flurries or very light snow showers, especially across the western South Plains.
Clouds will clear Friday evening, meaning a very cold Saturday morning. Though, a warming trend is in store for the rest of the weekend, with highs topping out near 70 by Sunday. Skies will remain mostly clear as winds pick back up by Sunday afternoon, ahead of yet another cold front.
