Wednesday Thursday Friday
Hi 74° Hi 59° Hi 62°
Lo 35° Lo 36° Lo 29°
*Warm & Breezy! * Much Cooler * Clouds increasing
Wednesday will be another vary nice day across the entire region. In fact, afternoon high temperatures may be even warmer than the 72° which was reported at the airport on Tuesday. One change you may notice in Wednesday’s weather is the increase in cloud cover and even fog across the central and eastern South Plains through 9 AM or so. Though fog and clouds will dissipate by Wednesday afternoon. Winds will be gusty, after our brief break on Tuesday; possibly gusting to near 30 mph out of the south on Wednesday afternoon.
Thursday will mark an end to the spring-like weather that the South Plains has been basking in for several days. A cold front will move through the region by morning, meaning much cooler high temperatures and gusty northerly winds.
The weather will become even more active by this weekend, as a storm system moves out of the desert southwest and combines with elevated moisture values to produce rain and storms Saturday into Sunday; mainly east of Lubbock. As another piece of this storm system moves across the area early next week, some forecast models are suggesting frozen precipitation could fall across the South Plains. At the moment, it is not a forecast; just a possibility.
Have a great Wednesday,
Cutter Martin (KTXT Weather)
