Weather for Saturday 1/5/13

After a cold and snowy Friday, Saturday’s weather will be much more pleasant!

Saturday will begin cold; with Lubbock beginning the day in the mid 20’s. There is a chance that low clouds could stick around through the early morning hours, though clearing skies should quickly move into the area by 9 AM at the latest. With so much sunshine, high temperatures should make it to near 50° by mid afternoon. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10-15 mph. Saturday evening will be cold yet again, with temperatures falling into the lower 20’s by Sunday morning.

It appears that yet another storm system will approach west Texas by early next week. This area of low pressure could bring another round of precipitation to the South Plains , possibly in the form of heavy snow by Tuesday night.
