TGIF,
After cold morning temperatures in the upper 20’s, the overall warming trend continues on Friday. High temperatures topping out in the upper 50’s are expected on campus. Mostly clear skies will also continue, however a passing disturbance will make for breezy conditions through the afternoon. Winds won’t be too bad; only gusting between 15-20 mph in town. Gusts topping 20 mph are most likely across northwestern areas including Muleshoe, Clovis, and Hereford.
Because dry air is able to warm/cool more efficiently than moist air, temperatures Friday night will be chilly. Even after highs near the 60° mark,Saturday morning will be in the mid 20’s inside the loop. Even colder temperatures are likely northwest of Lubbock.
Looking ahead, the weather looks to remain calm. A weak cold front is expected Saturday night, with another on Monday.
Wreck ‘Em,
Cutter Martin
