Weather for Wednesday 12/12/12

Happy last day of finals,

Yet another cold morning is expected on Wednesday, with Lubbock bottoming out between 23° and 26° mark by sunrise. However, the ‘warming trend’ which began on Tuesday will continue into the day on Wednesday with highs likely topping out near 60° by mid-afternoon. Except for a few passing high clouds, skies will be mostly clear through the day. Winds will be light in the morning, but southwesterly breezes will pick up into the 15-20 mph range by late afternoon. All in all, it will be a great start to your Holiday break; weather wise!

For those that will be traveling late this week, it appears that a storm system will move out of the four corners region by Thursday and begin affecting the South Plains on Friday; with high winds and blowing dust being distinct possibilities. However, there are now also indications that the Lubbock area could receive rain with this next system. Stay tuned to later entries for updates on this incoming storm system.
