Good Evening,
For the third straight day in a row, Lubbock has broken a record high. Today’s high of 79° broke the old record of 76°, which occurred back in 1995. Tomorrow will be another warm one, with an expected high of around 80°. This temperature will threaten tomorrow’s record high as well, which is 81°. Skies will remain mostly clear, with only brief periods of high clouds moving over the area. Even tomorrow night will not be all that cool, with an expected low of only 38°. This low temperature is nearly 8° above average!
Forecast models are still having trouble resolving a possible pattern change as we head towards the second week of December. These forecast models have been showing this change to a cooler and stormier weather pattern since mid-November, with it never actually becoming reality. Will this time before different? It is still far too soon to say for sure. However, we should have a much better idea by next Friday or so.
Stay Tuned,
Cutter Martin (KTXT Weather)
