Weather for Saturday 12/1/12

A record high of 81° was set at the airport on Thursday afternoon, beating the old record of 80°. We will again be very warm on Saturday, with high temperatures easily making it into the lower 80’s;perhaps the mid 80’s if there is enough sunlight. Winds will also be strong, especially in the afternoon when southwesterly wind gusts could exceed 25 mph. The weather for Texas Tech’s 54th annual ‘Carol of Lights’ still looks to remain very mild, with winds settling down after sunset. Lows Saturday night will only fall to near 40°, under continued mostly clear skies.
