Weather for Monday 12/31/12

Good morning,

After a cold and rainy Sunday night, where northwestern portions of the South Plains saw frozen precipitation; a warmer Monday afternoon is in store. Precipitation should exit the South Plains around sunrise, with partly cloudy skies and windy conditions setting in through the afternoon. Southwesterly winds will blow 15-25 mph with gusts over 30 mph likely. These winds will help warm afternoon highs into the mid 50’s, believe it or not! Unfortunately these warm conditions wont last; a strong cold front will move through the South Plains by late Monday afternoon. This incoming cold air-mass will yield Tuesday morning lows in the upper teens!

Stay warm,

Cutter Martin
