As of 12:30 AM, the National Weather Service office in Lubbock was considering upgrading the Winter Weather Advisory which is in effect for the northern counties of the South Plains; to a Winter Storm Warning. As of early this morning, Lubbock MWS was also considering the issuance of a Winter Weather advisory for the southern half of the South Plains, including Lubbock. These changes are being considered because the most recent runs of the weather forecast models are showing this incoming area of low pressure diving further south into Texas than earlier Shown; putting the South Plains and North Texas in a much more favorable position for heavy snow. While areas along and north of a Littlefield to Matador line could pick up 2-4 inches of snow; it still appears that snowfall accumulations in Lubbock will be relatively light; around an inch. Stay tuned!
