It’s another cold one out there this morning. Temperatures ranged from the upper 20’s to near 30° across the Lubbock area, under clear skies and light winds. As has been the case for quite some time, another mostly clear day is on tap. Winds should also remain light and southwesterly. Tonight will be much warmer across the area with temperatures only falling into the upper 30’s on campus; which is 8° above the average low! Above average temperatures look to remain across most of the United States into the first week of December.Because of this, the weather for Texas Tech’s 54th annual ‘Carol of Lights’ looks dry and mild.
Temperatures will be in the mid 60’s by the start of the ceremony, only falling into the upper 50’s by the time it wraps up. Following this period, there are signs that the country may be overtaken by a much cooler and stormier weather pattern. However, this potential is too far into the future for forecasters to speculate specific impacts which we may feel. Forecasters should know more about this developing weather pattern by the first week of December.
