Weather for Wednesday 11/14/12

Another cold morning out there! We fell to 25° at Texas Tech this morning, with a “warmer” 28° being reported by the airport at 8AM. This unofficially marks Lubbock’s 8th freeze of the season, with many more likely to come this winter. However, this week will be marked by a warming trend, beginning today. We will top out in the lower to middle 60’s across Lubbock and surrounding areas, under mostly clear skies and light southerly winds. Tonight will be another cool one, (though warmer than last night) with an expected low of 33 in the city.

Looking ahead, this seasonal and clear weather pattern looks to continue through the work week. In fact by  this weekend our temperatures will warm into the above average category, with slightly higher humidity levels and more clouds. Along with these higher moisture levels, a passing upper level disturbance could produce a few light showers around the area. Unfortunately,it’s too early to speculate on the timing and amount of precipitation  associated with this system; just keep this in mind for any of those weekend plans!
