Weather for Friday 11/9/12

Today:
After a very warm Thursday, temperatures will top out in the lower 80’s which is nearly 15 degrees above the average of 67 degrees. Winds will be stronger today out of the south-west, possibly gusting over 35mph. Overnight low’s will also run far above normal with lows likely falling into the lower 50’s with lighter winds.

For the Tech Game:
Precipitation chances look very low, and across our western areas later in the day. However, winds will be very gusty (possibly over 40 mph) out of the south-west. Besides possibly messing with any passing during the game, there will probably be some patchy blowing dust across the South Plains.

A Look Ahead:
The leading edge of the cooler air-mass will blow through Lubbock Saturday evening, possibly sparking off some thunderstorms, especially east of Lubbock. Though, the main story will likely be the much cooler air filtering into the area. Temperatures early next week may not make it out of the upper 40’s with a hard freeze likely Monday Night.
