Lots of things happening at The Raider

There’s quite a bit happening at The Raider this semester, and we wanted to let you know some of the things going on.

First, a slight change to the program schedule.  UnderCurrents has been moved from late evening to late morning.  You can hear UnderCurrents at 9am weekdays and stay tuned for the BBC’s World Have Your Say at Noon Monday through Friday.  UnderCurrents was moved in order to make room on the schedule for more student programming.

Second, a new political program called The Devil’s Advocate has been added to Wednesday afternoons.  The program examines all-things political, and is hosted by Dr. Kelly Kaufold and Anthony Hall.  The Devil’s Advocate airs Wednesday afternoons at 5pm.

Third, work continues on our new broadcast studios.  The new studio furniture was delivered and installed earlier this week which will now allow the studio equipment to be installed permanently.  The goal is to have everything Bristol-fashion in time for the official dedication of the Media and Communication Building November 9th.

Finally, you may have noticed the Now Playing box in the upper-right corner of the webpage.  The top line features the program or song that is currently airing on KTXT-FM.  Below that are the last 3 items that played previously.  It’s not perfect, but we’re tweaking things to improve what is displayed there.  Want to know what that tune was you heard earlier in the day?  No problem!  Click on the link to view Today’s Tracks, and you will see a playlist of all the program elements aired on The Raider up to that point.  What about an archive of previous day’s playlists?  The programmers are currently working on that and hope to have such a feature available soon.

We continue to get requests to stream our signal on the Internet, and it is a service we wish to provide.  We hope to have an online stream available next semester.
